Introductory Presentations
These introductory videos are designed for newcomers to get an initial look into the building blocks of the Taubman Approach. For the best experience, we strongly advise first-time participants to watch these videos before the Symposium. Even for those who have been working with the Taubman Approach for a while, these presentations are a terrific way to brush up on the basics.
The Thumb, Part 1
John Bloomfield’s “The Thumb, Part 2” at 11:45 AM ET on Saturday is a continuation from his first presentation, “The Thumb, Part 1”. Please go to the following page to view or review “The Thumb, Part 1”.
Zoom
The Golandsky Institute Online Workshop will be using Zoom. If you do not already have Zoom on the device you plan to use to attend the Workshop, be sure to download and install it ahead of time.
For those who already have Zoom, make sure that it is updated to the latest version. To check, go to the icon on the upper right corner and in the menu select “Check for Updates”. A window will appear showing whether you are updated or need to update. If you need to update, it will start downloading the update package, and a “Update” button will appear. Hit the “Update” button to update.
Equipment Setup
For optimum sound when playing the piano on Zoom, the “original sound” setting should be on. For instructions on turning on “original sound” refer to the Zoom helpdesk tutorial here.
The sessions will be very interactive for participants. Please try to find the best setup for your device(s) and/or camera(s) ahead of time so that a clear shot of your arms, hands, and torso can be achieved. If an overhead view can also be set up so that a top view of your hands can be displayed, that would be even better.
Videos
Video recording of the Symposium will be available to all registrants after the Symposium is finished.
Please allow 1-2 weeks for the videos to be available. An email notification will be sent to all registrants when they are ready. Be sure to add golandskyinstitute.org to your spam filter so you receive our emails!
Videos will be accessible for 3 months from the day they are made available.
