Dutch musician Hans Schellevis studied piano at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam and the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and orchestral conducting in the United Kingdom. He has appeared in recital throughout Europe, the United States, and Australia, and has made numerous radio and television recordings.

Schellevis has collaborated in concert with renowned artists including Cristina Deutekom and Nelly Miricioiu, and has served as a repertoire coach at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, the Conservatoire of Amsterdam, and Opera Studio Nederland. From 2001 to 2013, he was engaged as repetiteur for the NTR ZaterdagMatinee at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

As a score editor, Schellevis has published critical editions for major international publishers such as Opera Rara (Mercadante Virginia, Donizetti Parisina), Edizioni Ricordi (Mayr Ginevra di Scozia), and Bärenreiter-Verlag (Rossini Maometto secondo, Donizetti Caterina Cornaro).

He has conducted productions of Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande and Mozart’s Così fan tutte for Opera Studio Nederland, Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief at the Peter de Grote Festival, and Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte in Italy, Wolf-Ferrari’s Il segreto di Susanna and Puccini’s La bohème for the Nederlandse Reisopera, Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Pacini’s Malvina di Scozia in New York, and Green’s Alex In Transition in Tel Aviv.

He is currently studying with Deren Eryilmaz in London and is—uniquely within the Netherlands—undergoing training at the Golandsky Institute in New York to become a certified teacher of the Taubman Approach to Piano Playing.
