Pattern vs Pulse

There are many passages where grouping and rhythm do not coincide. Patterns that are out of sync with the basic metric structure of a piece always lend variety and interest to a composition. After understanding the grouping, the next step is to plan a choreography that makes the passage work smoothly within the given metric framework. John Bloomfield will illustrate with a number of examples from the repertoire.

Mary Moran will answer questions about teaching the Taubman Approach. This session is for you – teachers who work with Taubman concepts!  Send your questions or concerns, and gain new ideas and insights.

Trills!

Robert Durso will explain and demonstrate how to execute Single Note Trills, Alberti Basses, Rotary Octaves, and Double Note Trills. The lecture will explore how these skills combine with other elements of The Taubman Approach to solve passages in the familiar repertoire we all play and teach.
