2023 GI Spring Special Session

ABOUT EVENT

The 2023 Spring Special Session is specifically for people in the certification program and those close to it. The session will be recorded and participants will have access to the video for 3 months from the day it is made available.

=========== TOPICS ===========

A deeper look into Left Hand Passages
Starting with fingering and whether leaping, arpeggiating, or simply just repeating, many patterns can be confusing and difficult to solve. In this lecture, Robert Durso will show how various physical elements solve these figures and give us the tools to teach effectively.

Transitions in Teaching
Teaching piano students with the Taubman Approach from the first lesson encompasses growth and development through many stages. In this lecture, Mary Moran will take you through some of the steps necessary for guiding your students from the beginning to the intermediate level.

Further Thoughts on Polyrhythms
The least complicated polyrhythms often go into students’ hands without excessive effort. But, some of the more complicated ones don’t yield as easily to practice. Expanding on his earlier streaming video about polyrhythms, John Bloomfield offers a fresh explanation of polyrhythms that can be used with students of all levels.

Q & A with Edna Golandsky
Edna Golandsky will answer submitted questions in her session.
