2021 GI Spring Online Workshops: Teaching the Taubman Approach

ABOUT EVENT

Thursday, February 25, 2021, 5:00 pm (ET)

Teaching the Taubman Approach

Mary Moran will be answering questions from pianists and teachers of all levels:

  • Those beginning Taubman work: How can I get collapsed knuckles to hold in single notes and in harmonic intervals?
  • Pianists with small hands: How can I play broken octaves without tension in Mozart Rondo alla Turca?
  • Advanced performers: How can I apply the rotation in double thirds and get smooth, legato results in Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No.2?

These and other examples will be addressed in this workshop.

You can still send in a question on any pianistic problem or situation…those hard spots in the piece you are working on, that student whose hand still doesn’t look right, or that technical issue that keeps you from playing pieces that you love. Questions will be accepted until February 14. Please send to mary.moran [at] golandskyinstitute.org

A recording of the workshop will be provided to all registrants for later viewing.
