Starting with fingering and whether leaping, arpeggiating, or simply just repeating, many patterns can be confusing and difficult to solve. In this lecture, Robert Durso will show how various physical elements solve these figures and give us the tools to teach effectively.

12:15 PM Mary Moran: Transitions in Teaching

Teaching piano students with the Taubman Approach from the first lesson encompasses growth and development through many stages. In this lecture, Mary Moran will take you through some of the steps necessary for guiding your students from the beginning to the intermediate level.

2:00 PM John Bloomfield: Further Thoughts on Polyrhythms

The least complicated polyrhythms often go into students’ hands without excessive effort. But, some of the more complicated ones don’t yield as easily to practice. Expanding on his earlier streaming video about polyrhythms, John Bloomfield offers a fresh explanation of polyrhythms that can be used with students of all levels.
