A Constellation of Contemporary Music Orbiting Pierrot Lunaire

Moving Sounds Festival, featuring Argento Chamber Ensemble Concerts

The Argento Chamber Ensemble continues Lunar Movements, a new series for new music. This series focuses on three approaches to contemporary composition: structurally innovative works; compositions in an intuitive style; and allusive music. Arnold Schoenberg’s seminal Pierrot Lunaire, composed in 1912, is the cornerstone work for the entire series, and Schoenberg’s pre-Pierrot works appear on this August program.
